We have received an email from Xavier with an update on the work of the Trans-India Ministries. They have commenced a new school and are able to serve many people with their work. Xavier also advised us that Mr Noble, whose theological studies the Ministry has been supporting has successfully finished his second year and is now looking for support to enable him to finish his final year. DV Alert Training

Uniting Care Mental Health, in conjunction with Lifeline and Parramatta Mission, are hosting a DV Alert Training Session (Domestic Violence Response Training) on 7th and 8th April in Kurrajong.

There are 25 places available and the training is free to health and community workers.

DV Alert is a nationally recognised training program that enables health, allied health and front-line workers to confidently:

• Recognise signs of domestic and family violence

• Respond with appropriate care

• Refer affected individuals and families to relevant support services

Lent Event Rally: March 20

The Palm Sunday Rally and March to “Welcome Refugees” is happening on Sunday March 20, gathering at Belmore Park, north of Central Station, from 12.45pm. There will be live music, a variety of speakers and a 1.5km march to Victoria Park, in support of a more humanitarian refugee policy and treatment of asylum seekers.

2015 Christmas Bowl Appeal

Collection envelopes for the 2015 Christmas Bowl Appeal will be handed out during our morning service on December 13. Money raised in the Appeal goes to support the work of Act for Peace, which is the International Aid Agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia. This year the particular focus of the Appeal will be on helping families who have fled terrible fighting in Southern Sudan and who are now forced to live in refugee camps in Ethiopia without access to clean water and sanitation facilities.

If you would like to contribute to the Christmas Bowl Appeal please place the envelope containing your donation in the offering bag on any Sunday up to and including 7 February, 2016. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and a receipt can be provided.
