This forthcoming election gives our Church another opportunity to fund raise. Of course this cannot be achieved without calling once again for volunteers to show off their cooking skills on our “Old Faithful” barbecue.
You will find the volunteer form on a clip board in the foyer. Please record your name next to your preferred duty.
Our next Contemporary Service on Sunday 28th August at 9.30am.
We will be having good music, stories and some surprises to make a special service for the whole family. Please note the date in your diary and plan to invite your family and friends to share with us, morning tea will follow the service.
The local government elections for Blacktown Council will be on Saturday 10th September. We will be having just a barbecue on that day, if you are able to help in any way please see Neva or put your name on the list on the table in the foyer.
A money box for coin donations to Frontier Services will be placed near the stewards table from next Sunday 7th August until Sunday 18th September and anyone who has spare coins is welcome to donate it by putting it in the money box. Also a special morning tea will be held after church on Sunday 18th Sept to also raise money for Frontier Services.
You will have received a brochure this morning explaining Godly Play, which we have been using for Kid’s Church. Some resources are needed for Godly Play lessons with the children at church. If you have any of these items and would like to donate them it would be greatly appreciated.
- Small to medium sized baskets made of natural materials e.g. cane
- Natural craft materials like paperbark, leaves, gum nuts
- Felt, cardboard rolls (not toilet rolls)
- A carpet square approx 2×2 metres

Please see Julie for more information. Thank you.
As part of our Mission Plan for 2015 we supported the Operation Christmas Child ministry run by Samaritan’s Purse. We were very successful in our efforts last year and a total of 65 shoe boxes were donated to Samaritan’s Purse for distribution to children living in poverty throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Samaritan’s Purse (Operation Christmas Child) has again been selected as a focus area for our Mission plan for 2016 and our aim is to try and build on our success of last year. The idea is that over the next 10 or so weeks we will collect items for inclusion in the shoe boxes and then gather on a Saturday in early October (date TBA) to pack the shoe boxes as a group.
A list of items suitable for inclusion in the shoe boxes has been provided to you on July 24.
This is a great opportunity to help a worthy cause that benefits children who have very little. Everyone is encouraged to help as, and where, they are able.
Please continue to pray for the success of Operation Christmas Child.
